The Buzz about our Laundry Detergent!

Friday, December 18th, 2009

laundry_lgI recently received this feedback from Kari M. in Marion, Iowa:  “Love the laundry soap…I bought a new sweatshirt from VonMaur…my fav sweatshirt..fits perfectly.  Spent a bit on it.  It’s a creamy white with a really cool peace sign on the front…I washed it before using Norwex…used liquid downy…never had this problem before…the downy stained my sweatshirt…it was terrible.  I rewashed it using liquid detergent..nothing.  It didn’t come out…so I wore it around the house for a couple of weeks whenever I was cold, took it on a trip, only wearing it inside cause it was hideous looking…came home, washed it in Norwex and would you believe the downy stains all came out.  I was shocked!!!  I thought my sweatshirt was a total loss because I tried to get the stains out and they wouldn’t come out!  I love my sweatshirt again and I love the Norwex laundry detergent!!!  I have found that I need more than a teaspoon of it for the clothes to come clean.  Teaspoon is not enough.  I use the little cup that is provided and I fill it 3/4 and it’s perfect.  Whites are great and so are colors!!  Used the dusting mitt on the ceiling fan and my wood blinds…did a fabulous job!!  yippee.  Thank you, Sonya…

Kari has a front loading HE washer.  I have heard many similar reports from other customers, as well.  Give our laundry detergent a try… I am confident you will love it!  Most of our customers with HE washers find one teaspoon per load (even less if washing with soft water) to be extremely effective.  That’s right!  JUST 1 teaspoon per load.  That makes for about 400 loads of laundry per bag.  If you have a standard top-loading washer, then you will use 2 Tablespoons per load (about 80 loads per bag).

And let me share a couple of other laundry detergent raves! One customer raves about how this detergent takes the “hog smell” out of her husband’s clothes. And another shared how her uniform is navy blue and has always faded terribly. She was very excited that Norwex detergent does not fade her navy blue uniform and keeps it looking “beautiful”! And these are just a few. Give it a try for yourself!

Norwex Mop System! My favorite!

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Superior Mop PackageThe reusable Norwex mop system is my top-favorite product.   Before Norwex found me, I absolutely hated mopping my floors- the bucket of dirty, sloshing water, the dirty mop, the short handle… the list goes on.   I just didn’t like it.   For my “dry mopping” needs, I liked using the dry Swiffers for my wood floors, but hated that I was throwing them into the landfill & constantly having to buy more ($$$)!  Now that I’ve discovered the Norwex Mop, I absolutely love that I’m not clogging our landfills with more paper products and that it does a far better job at “dry mopping” than the Swiffer ever did.  It’s fantastic to see how this mop will shine up wood floors!!  At several of my home shows, I’ve had hostesses who have previously used other cleaning products on their floors- these often leave residue that leads to streaks.  It is fun to watch our mop start to remove those residues and leave the floors prettier than ever!  And did I mention we mop with JUST WATER?!?  I recently got some feedback from a customer who has a lot of wood floors and recently purchased the mop system.  Here are her words:  “Sonya, I have two words for the mop….LOVE IT!!  I’m so glad I invested in it.  It works wonders.

This “Superior Mop System” comes with a dry microfiber mop pad, and a blue microfiber wet pad.  You simply dry mop first, use the rubber brush to brush any dirt/ debris into your trash can, and then put on the wet mop.  The wet mop has completely made the old dirty mop & bucket of water obsolete!!  Because of the incredible quality of our microfiber, this mop does an amazing job!  And it’s so easy to use!  It comes in 2 size choices:  the regular or the mini.  Most of my customers choose the full size, unless they have a very small amount of smooth flooring in their home.  The larger size covers the area much more quickly, yet is flexible enough to fit into very small spaces.  With our tile & wood floors, I always reach for my full-sized mop.    Other customers have commented how their husbands walked in and asked *what* they had done to the floors… they l0oked so great!

I love that the handle is telescopic, meaning no more bending over your mop.  And it locks into place so you can clean ceilings/ walls/ high windows (you’ll want the mop brackets for this).  And in general, men love this mop for its simplicity and taller adjustable handle.  The pads velcro on, making them very easy to put on/ off.

When you purchase the mop, be sure to also add the rubber brush to your order.  You’ll be glad you did.  This really helps keep the dry mop cleaner longer.  When you need to launder your mop pads, simply follow the same care instructions as for our other microfiber products.  NO bleach, NO fabric softener, NO linty loads.   Now remember, the wet mop pad has the naturally antimicrobial silver embedded into the microfiber to keep the bacteria count down between launders.   Most people find that they only need to occasionally wash them.  After you’ve used the Superior Dry Mop pad, simply use the rubber brush with short strokes to brush any dirt into the garbage.  To clean the wet pad after use, put a *small* drop of our Dish Soap, and rub the microfiber firmly against itself under running water.  Rinse well & hang to dry.  If you need a good place to store your mop, Norwex offers the mop hanger.

I don’t think you can give this mop it’s full due until you’ve actually *used* it!  The cost for the large superior mop is $112.99, and $92.99 for the mini.  The rubber brush (also fantastic for removing pet hair from furniture, dust from felt hats, dirt that accumulates in corners of carpeted rooms, and much more!) is just $13.99.  We offer an excellent spray bottle for $6.99.  The dish soap is just $7.99 (very concentrated, and excellent at getting stains out of your Norwex cloths & mop pads!).   Call me if you have any questions or would like assistance with placing your mop order.  We do accept MasterCard or Visa by phone or via PayPal.  And, did I remind you of the mop’s 2- year warranty?

The Buzz about Norwex

Thursday, September 24th, 2009
EnvirosNearly everyday I hear another rave review about the Norwex products!  Are you curious what all the fuss is about?  Give me a call and let us get some of these incredible products into your hands.  You’ll soon understand.  :)   Or better yet, let me come do a party in the comfort of your living room!  These products are SO worth sharing, and as an added bonus, you’ll earn a bunch of free products!
I found Sonya’s presentation very enjoyable and informative. I have always felt that we should do all we can to protect our environment and not waste resources; consequently, I have tried to avoid using throw-away products like paper towels, paper napkins, Swiffers, etc.  At the party I bought the superior mop starter package, the enviro cloth, the window cloth, and the dust mitt, thinking that I would probably keep my house cleaner if I had products to use that were more convenient than the wet mop, dust rag, etc. that I had always used, but not really expecting anything special.
I was amazed when I tried these products. When I began dusting with the dust mitt, not only did it pick up the dust better than my oiled dust cloth, but I noticed it dragging a bit so I applied a little more pressure and it even removed the fingerprints that were normally left behind when I dusted.
Then I tried cleaning off the stove with the dampened enviro cloth.  The handle of my oven door had a build-up of gunk on it that I had tried and tried to get off.  Nothing I tried would remove it, but the enviro cloth got it off – every bit of it.  I was amazed.
Not only do these products clean without contributing to the waste that is building up around our country everywhere, but they do an incredible job! Thanks!

“I received my Norwex cloths and cleaned my front windows and front door as soon as I could and it is amazing.  I don’t think they’ve ever been that clean before and we’ve lived here for 11 1/2 years.  My husband is quite impressed.”

The incredible water-deposit-remover!

The Norwex DeScaler. descalerI’ve known how incredible this product is for making glass shower doors sparkle again (by removing lime build-up, etc.), but recently I was very excited when I was able to remove the build-up around the base of my faucet handles (especially the hot water side).  I’ve previously tried soaking it with vinegar-soaked paper towels, which sort of worked, but was a pain.  I was thrilled to see that by spraying the area, letting it set for a few minutes (while I went around spraying Descaler on the other places that I was going to clean) & then wiping it off with my Enviro cloth (followed by the window cloth for a streak-free shine!).  It looks like new again.  And I’m a happy lady.  :)

To clean the hard water spots off your glass shower door, spray DeScaler evenly over the glass.  Let set for 3-5 minutes.  Wipe off with your bathroom scrub mitt, followed by the dry window cloth.  Sparkly clean!

Any cons or downfalls of this product?  Well, this stuff does not smell the greatest (quite unlike the Sanira solution, which smells lovely!), but not terribly offensive.   The DeScaler used to be a brown, ugly color, but the new clear formula is fantastic!  If you let it dry on, you won’t be able to easily wipe it off except by spraying it down again… so make sure you don’t wait too long to wipe it off the surface. And on the subject of toilets… I’m told the DeScaler works well on lime build-up in toilets, as well.   People in our area complain of “the pink ring” in tubs and toilets.  I find that the Sanira toilet system solution does a great job getting rid of the it.  But at our house, we also have a bluish ring just at the water line that seems to have become part of the porcelain… I don’t know what this is from, but so far I’ve found nothing (toxic or otherwise) that will take it off.  I did have one customer who was trying to remove long-term hard water build-up from the textured side of her shower door, and reported that she wasn’t able to cut through it with the descaler.

So that’s my 2 cents on the DeScaler!  I’m still staring in amazement at my gunk-free faucets…

The Dynamic Duo!

Monday, September 7th, 2009

I’d like to start by reviewing the Enviro and Window cloth team. When purchased separately, these two cost $33.98 + S/H & tax. But if you buy them as the Basic Antibac Package, they’re only $30.99 + S/H & tax. Considering what these two cloths will save you in cleaning costs, they’re worth their weight in gold!

When I first heard about the Norwex cloths, I was skeptical whether they’d be any different from the microfiber that I was already using, and told my friend so when she hosted her first Norwex party.  But since I *had* been searching for a safe, effective and environmentally-friendly toilet bowl cleaner, I was thrilled to give the Sanira System a try!  It wasn’t until her visit that I was able to actually try her Norwex cloths first-hand. First we tried various cleaning tasks with the microfiber cloths that I had, and then we used the Norwex ones. There was no question which ones worked best!

The Basic Norwex Cloths- Enviro (blue), polishing/ window cloth (purple)

How I love my Norwex cloths… Let me count the ways….

They are incredible at cleaning up greasy areas- perfect around the stove. If I need that little extra oomph on our flat-top stove (i.e. cooked on potato water), I just use a little Cleaning Paste with my Enviro cloth, then polish it up with my window cloth.

I adore how well these take soap scum off our bathtub… with JUST water! Then the combo of the Enviro cloth with window cloth leaves my mirrors and stainless steel faucets with a streak-free shine.   And these two cloths together leave my marble counter tops sparkling.

And I’m amazed at this window-cleaning-duo!  Quick and streak-free!  I used to get so frustrated when I was using Windex and paper towels.  I’d work and work to get it streak-free, then I’d walk by later, only to see STREAKS.  You’ll be amazed by how well these work on windows.  And, if you have hard-to-reach windows, the Norwex mop system (with the mop brackets) is wonderful to use with your Window Cloth.  Simply brilliant.

I’m always amazed when I’m able to remove carpet stains simply by spritzing the stain with water and rubbing it out with an Enviro cloth.  No more stinky, toxic carpet cleaners that just leave a big black spot a week later anyway!   In case you have an especially tenacious carpet stain or a pet stain, Norwex also has an excellent, non-toxic Carpet Stain Buster that works great on protein-based stains and odors!

I’m also very impressed with how Norwex stands behind their products, offering a 2-year warranty with their microfiber cloths and mop products.  That’s pretty awesome.  And to think that most people report that their cloths last closer to 5-7 years!  That’s saving our environment from a whole lot of paper towels.  And toxic chemicals.  Man I love my job!   :)

For those of you who’ve been at one of my parties, you’ll know what I’m talking about when I call these my “Bert and Ernie cloths”.  They go virtually nowhere without each other.  They work best as a team!

So that’s a lot of pros for these two humble cloths… how about the cons?  Well, if you don’t rinse it well under water (and possibly use a drop of dish soap) after doing extra dirty jobs, they may stain.  Now, cleaning cloths aren’t necessarily meant to be beautiful, but when we feel the way we do about THESE cloths, we like to do all that we can….  :)   So, just rinse the cloth in water and rub it against itself (that way the microfiber can clean itself).  Use a drop of our amazing dish soap if it’s an extra stubborn stain.  And another con- if you don’t rinse out your cloth after cleaning and leave it in a wet heap, it will begin to have an odor.  So don’t do that!  After using it, rinse it well, wring it out well, and hang it to dry.  (It is actually beneficial to occasionally boil your Norwex Enviro cloths (in a kettle of water on your stovetop) as needed. They are so effective at holding on to stuff, that the heat really helps to swell the fibers and release anything stuck in the cloth (and take care of any accumulating odors). 15 minutes in a pot of water on the stove. If you’ve got hard water, you may want to add a bit of white vinegar, too, and sometimes adding a little baking soda at the end of the boiling really helps to clean them.)  Then just launder them as usual- no fabric softener, no bleach, and no linty loads.  Oh, and I should also mention what we call the “Deep Clean”.  This entails soaking your cloths overnight in a bowl or sink with HOT water & a higher concentration of the Norwex Ultra Plus Laundry Detergent.  I put 1-2 full scoops into a very large bowl with hot water & then let my cloths soak overnight!  Amazing results!)

So there you have it- my synopsis of the incredible “Dynamic Duo” (a.k.a. “Burt and Ernie cloths”).  If you’re wondering where to start with Norwex products, I’d highly recommend getting these two cloths at a minimum– you’ll be SO glad you did!   Contact me if you have any questions or would like assistance with your order!
