Make-up-removal-packageJust think how simple, yet effective, your skin care regimen can be!  Gently cleanse your face with the Make-up Removal Cloth.  Perhaps once a week, gently exfoliate with the Body Cloth.  After cleansing, apply Naturally Timeless Firming Face Serum around, being very gentle around the eye area.  Then follow with the Naturally Timeless Day Cream and the apply makeup as usual.  So SIMPLE.  So EFFECTIVE.  So NORWEX!!

Can stem cells from a rare Swiss Apple REALLY fight and even turn back the signs of aging & help lessen the appearance of age spots & fine lines?  I encourage you to try it for yourself!!  I can’t wait to hear how you love it!
Would you like to learn a bit more about this incredible rare Swiss apple stem cell technology?  Here’s an article from:

A Swiss apple a day keeps wrinkles at bay

The Uttwiler Spätlauber is little known and has been dying out

Image Caption: The Uttwiler Spätlauber is little known and has been dying out

A rare Swiss apple is being hailed in the cosmetic and fashion world as an exciting anti-ageing breakthrough – even Michelle Obama is rumoured to be a fan.

Used in creams and serums, stem cells from the Uttwiler Spätlauber apple are said to protect skin cell regeneration and so delay the onset of wrinkles. The discovery was made by a Swiss company.

The November edition of the United States Vogue magazine went as far as to call the variety “the super-apple”, and asked if the tree could be “the new fountain of youth”.

The Uttwiler Spätlauber, which was first recorded in the 18th century, comes from canton Thurgau, in northern Switzerland.

It is well known for its excellent storability; it can stay fresh looking for up to four months after being harvested, long after other varieties have become wrinkled.

However, it has not been widely cultivated of late because of its sour taste and the number of trees have dwindled.

Amazing longevity

Having collected some samples, Swiss researchers set to work and found that the answer mostly lay in the amazing longevity of the apple’s stem cells.  Humans have skin stem cells, which replenish and maintain the balance of cells within the skin tissue and regenerate tissue which has been damaged. But with age, the number of skin stem cells decreases and their ability to repair the skin becomes less efficient. The result is – with added environmental damage like UV rays – a loss of skin vitality, and inevitably, wrinkles…

Norwex Pre Wash on Chocolate

Saturday, May 7th, 2011

When I came out to the kitchen, I found my 3 year old’s shirt covered with chocolate.

Chocolate on shirtNow if it were a small stain, I’d first reach for a damp Enviro Cloth to simply wipe it off, but this job looked a bit too much for that.  So, looking at the positive side, I thought what a perfect challenge for the Norwex Pre Wash!

So first I sprayed all of the stains with the Norwex Prewash:  Chocolate stains presprayed with Norwex PreWash.  Then I let it set for about 10-20 minutes.  I then put it in a load of “mediums”, using 1 teaspoon of the Norwex Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent.  (We only use 1/2 -1 teaspoon of Norwex Laundry Detergent per load in our front-loading HE washing machine!  Then I forgot to check it for stains before throwing it into the dryer, so I was relieved when I took it out of the dryer and…. Ta-da! Clean again! .    Norwex Laundry DetergentNorwex Laundry Prespray

*Please note, if you have an HE washing machine still under warranty, the Norwex detergent is not yet labeled for HE washers, so using it may void your warranty.  Which isn’t something we want, so if you’re under warranty, we recommend using only HE labeled detergent if that’s what your warranty states.  Per our Norwex Customer Service Department:  “Our Laundry detergent does not state HE on the package but is compatible with HE machines as it has no fillers and is low sud-sing; we do not recommend people who’s washing machines are still under warranty to use our detergent for the reason we don’t want them to lose the warranty on their machines. After the warranty period people with HE machine can safely use our laundry detergent.”

OK- I just had to add one more thing to this post!  I am now an even bigger fan of our pre-treat & laundry detergent!!  You know how hard it is to get mud stains out of clothes, right?  Well, my 2 oldest came home from a bike ride with these horrendous mud stains on their shirts.  I presprayed them, let them set about 10 min, threw them in the sink with concentrated Norwex Laundry detergent to soak overnight.  (I wanted to be *sure* to save these shirts so I took double precautions!!) The next day, I laundered them as usual.  Take a look at the photos:    Mud after bike riding... P1110588 Can you believe it?  I’m a happy mama.  :)

Can you see yourself standing behind products like these?  Would you like to add an extra $1000+ to your family’s monthly income?   I can help you get started- ask me about the phenomenal sign-on bonus this month, too!!

What would YOU rather wash your clothes in?

Laundry Detergent Experiment

OK… so I did this little laundry detergent experiment OVER A YEAR AGO!!  I took the detergent that most of my customers guess to be the most popular laundry detergent in America… the High Efficiency kind in both HE liquid and HE powder (the powder one also had fabric softener built in) and I put in the amount for a MEDIUM load in an HE washing machine.  I also put the amount of Norwex Ultra-Plus Laundry Detergent that we use in our HE washer for a medium load (just 1/2 teaspoon!) and put them all in the same amount of water.  Almost 1 1/2 years later, you can see that 2 of them are still full of fillers (and of course fragrance, too), and  the liquid is full of blue dye. Notice the gummy stuff settling to the bottom of the jar with the liquid!  Yuck!  What is America washing their clothes with?!  Norwex laundry detergent does a fantastic job of cleaning… and it has no fillers, fragrance, or dyes!  I can tell you the “clear” laundry solution:)   For a standard (non-HE) washer, you’ll use one 2T scoop per load.  For a HE machine, 1/2 teaspoon if soft water (some people even fins 1/4 teaspoon to be enough with soft water!!) and about 1 teaspoon per load if hard water.  And don’t forget to replace your toxic fabric softener & dryer sheets with the Norwex Dryer Balls!  (Why do you think dryer sheets keep mice out of your RV?  Rodents are too smart to go near the stuff!)

Well, I think a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ll just leave it at this today!

New 2010 Fall Products are Here!

I’m excited to unveil the NEW 2010 Fall Products!  Children are our future!  We want them to learn safe, chemical-free ways of cleaning, as well as instilling an enjoyment of cleaning.  Well Norwex has once again came with the answer.  Give them their very own Norwex products so they can learn and love to “Norwex the house”!  The children mop is a favorite, to be sure, as well as the mitt that is sized just for little hands.  And the kid-friendly colors are great!  The kids back pack is the perfect place for them to carry “their” cleaning supplies, and also perfect for lunches or trips to the park.

The veggie and fruit scrub cloth is back by popular demand!  This cloth has been proven to remove some pretty nasty stuff from our fruits and vegetables.  It’s also great in conjunction with our Fresh Wash.  For certain produce (i.e. broccoli), you need the Fresh Wash.  This cloth helps remove the “bio film” from our fruits and veggies!

The Lint Mitt is perfect size for tucking in your purse and taking on travel.  It works great!

The Norwex Washing Net bag is great for storing clean Norwex cloths, as well as for collecting, laundering, and drying the soiled cloths.  Very sturdy and well made, this bag will make laundering your Norwex microfiber even easier!

Last but no least… the suede, antibac make-up removal cloths.  These are great for sensitive skin around the eye area (as well as for those of you with sensitive skin!).  Stains wash out more easily than the Body Pack Cloths due to the tight weave.  These are perfect for traveling, too!

Call or email me today if you have any questions about our new products.  And feel free to order online or via phone or email.  I look forward to assisting you!

Dirty Upholstery? Norwex to the rescue!

Do your fabric or microfiber couches, chairs, and other upholstery need some cleaning?
Check out what just the Norwex Enviro Cloth and water can do!  cleaning dirty upholstery with Norwex

On my recent trip to California, I had the opportunity to take on the stains on this ivory chair upholstery with just an Enviro cloth & water!  Guess which side we cleaned!  :) I simply sprayed the left side with water & proceeded to wipe it clean with just a damp Enviro cloth!  Please DO try this at home… and prepare to be amazed.

For those of us with pets and/or children, we can appreciate that cloth upholstery doesn’t always stay so pristine looking.  I’ve gotten tons of positive feedback from customers telling me the miraculous transformation after using the Enviro cloth with water… (and occasionally a little Norwex carpet cleaner (Carpet Stain Buster) is warranted- especially if pet stains).  At a recent party, the hostess was raving about how well the Enviro cleans her microfiber chair, and she said she loves to use the Rubber Brush to sort of freshen the nap of the microfiber, too!

And while we’re talking about the miracles that the Norwex cloths can do, let’s talk about carpet stains!  I have been amazed by the variety of stains I’ve been able to get out of carpets with just a Norwex Enviro cloth and water… pet stains, black grease stains left from chairs, tar, and more!  And of course, we have the Carpet Stain Buster for the extra stubborn, organic stains.  Simply spray the stain liberally with water and then use a damp Enviro cloth to gently massage out the stain (don’t scrub, just a gentle blotting works well).  Voila!!  Just a few more reasons Norwex will make your life easier!

Doggie Nose Prints? Attention Pet Owners!

Monday, July 12th, 2010

I was talking with some friends recently and they were exclaiming how well ourNorwex Enviro and Polishing cloths work at cleaning doggy or kitty nose prints off windows!  With JUST WATER!    I love when my hostesses leave me some nose prints to clean at their party, because it truly shows how these cloths can shine!!  Speaking of pet clean up, Norwex has incredible products for pet owners in general.  At one of the parties I did this past Spring, my hostess was kind enough to leave some muddy doggy footprints on her vinyl floor, and she was incredulous at how easily, quickly, & effortlessly our Norwex Superior Mop cleaned them up!  (That’s just one more wonderful thing about hosting a Norwex party at your home… what other party are you actually “required” to leave some dirt?!)  :)   And the mop leaves NO HARMFUL CHEMICAL RESIDUE that can make your pet sick!  My customers with pets are absolutely crazy about the Norwex Rubber Brush for removing pet hair from just about any fabric!  It’s amazing on pet beds, couches, or for the carpeting along baseboards where the vacuum doesn’t reach.  I’ve even had customers tell me that they’ve used it to remove pet hair from their clothing.  (And if you own our mop system, the Rubber Brush is also a must!)  The Antibac Microfiber Dusting Mitt does a fantastic job at picking up hair from a shedding cat or dog, as well.  And for those muddy and wet winter/ spring paws, the Antibac Pet Set is fantastic for cleaning paws when they come back into the house, as well as for bathing and thoroughly drying your pets (great for those cold months to minimize chill after a bath!)  Of course the damp Enviro cloth/dry Polishing cloth duo (a.k.a. “Burt & Ernie”) are essential for easily removing kitty paw prints with JUST water… effortlessly!   Oh, and let’s not forget about the Odor Eliminator and the amazing Carpet Stain Buster!  For pet owners, these are both essentials!  The Norwex Odor Eliminator is great for freshening pet areas, and the Carpet Stain Buster does an incredible job at removing pet urine, vomit, waste, and residual odors from carpet stains without leaving a residue.  And the Mattress Cleaner is great for removing pet (as well as human) dander from your mattress (along with other organic waste like dust mite feces!!)  Allergy sufferers find that Norwex products help significantly because they help to remove the irritating substances.  And if your pet drinks out of the toilet, you’ll be interested to know that our Sanira Toilet Brush Cleaning System will be a non-poisonous, non-corrosive cleaning solution- a much safer option for your pet!    Just one more reason to love Norwex…  :)   dog_cat Happy Pets, Happy Pet Owners!

Shine and Clean with Norwex Cleaning Paste

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

cl_pasteOur Norwex Cleaning Paste is a fantastic non-toxic cleaner that provides mild, chemical-free abrasion to polish, sine, and clean.  Just today I was cleaning our basement laundry sink- which I’ve tried many times to clean, but hadn’t yet tried the Norwex Cleaning Paste, Kitchen Scrub Cloth, and Spirinetts.  Now let me tell you, this sink has been extremely well-used over the years!!  Paint.  Caulk.  Grime.  Hard-water build-up.  Not too pretty.  So, I’m going to input a photo of what I accomplished in a short time with the Cleaning Paste, Kitchen Scrub Cloth, and Spirinetts.  And around the faucet, I used the DeScaler to cut through some of the hard-water deposits.  basement laundry sink
It was an amazing improvement!  Now I need to go down and finish the other half.  :)

A bit more about the Norwex Cleaning Paste.   It is definitely one of our most popular cleaning products.  One of my favorite things is that  I can identify & pronounce all four of the ingredients:  Marble Flour, Chalk, Natural Soap, Traces of Coconut Oil.   The cleaning paste will replace your Ajax, Comet, SoftScrub, and other chemical abrasive cleaners.  It polishes, cleans, and protects!  It’s great to use on plastic, stainless steel, aluminum, porcelain, tile, painted surfaces, enamel, chrome, coffee pots, glassware and food storage products.  It is NOT recommended for cleaning brass, silver, and acrylic.  NOTE The cleaning paste is extremely gentle, but it is still mildly abrasive.  While it’s safe to use on most surfaces, as with all of our cleaning products, Norwex recommends you first test an inconspicuous area if you are concerned about the possibility of scratching.

The Cleaning Paste becomes a “paste” once you have rubbed your wet Enviro, Kitchen Cloth, Spirisponge (or whatever cloth you are using with it) on the compact “chunk” in the container.  It is not liquid or powder, but rather is hard and compact in the container.  I find that it lasts a *very* long time, making it not only a safe & effective cleaning option, but also a very economical choice ($28.99 for a canister that will last you a LONG time)!!   Once you have accumulated the product on  your cloth, clean & polish the surface.  Then collect any residual Cleaning Paste by going over it with an Enviro cloth and a Polishing Cloth to leave a streak-free, beautifully polished surface.

I find it’s great for built-up soap scum, rust stains, tile, and some hard water stains in bathrooms (although this is where the Norwex DeScaler really shines!!).  In the kitchen, I love mine to polish up stainless steel or white/ beige sinks and faucets.  I also have many customers who absolutely love it for their smooth-top stoves.  (To clean my flat-top stove, I use the Cleaning Paste with the Kitchen Scrub Cloth and it works great!)  PLEASE NOTE:   Although I have many customers who love the paste for their stovetops, Candi Bezte mentions below that it may be too abrasive for some of the new enamel or ceramic stove tops, so ALWAYS be sure to test a small inconspicuous area first!

Here’s what Candi Bezte writes about the cleaning paste:

Tech Talk

“Spring” Cleaning Paste!

It really is amazing how well the Cleaning Paste works! It gets the worst scuffs/marks off fiberglass tubs, marks off vinyl flooring, or that permanent ink that mysteriously may get on the kitchen counter! It will take rust out of stainless steel sinks and off plastic dishwasher walls, and even remove permanent ink off white board.  It is fantastic for those “normal” cleaning  jobs such as getting the soap scum out of your tub or shower.  Considering you need to use so little…one container of Cleaning Paste really goes a long way! It is nice to use a cleaning product that is not a liquid (eliminating possibility of inhaling while using) – just a damp Envirocloth, a small dab of paste, and you’re good to go!

How does this amazing product work? It contains some soaps and a very small amount of sodium laureth sulphate combined with marble fl our and chalk (calcium carbonate) which result in a very slightly abrasive product that has the ability to also remove grease. The majority of the work is simply the result of very mild abrasion – similar to the Micro Pad. The paste basically functions like ultrasuperfine sandpaper, with a bit of soap added to it.

CAUTION: Since the Cleaning Paste is mildly abrasive, always test in an inconspicuous spot before using. Not recommended for use on acrylic surfaces, brushed stainless steel, the new enameled or ceramic stovetops or other delicate surfaces. The Cleaning Paste is a physical scrubber and is not intended to be an everyday use product; it is intended only for stains and marks that do NOT come off with regular soap and water or the Enviro and water!

The fabulous Norwex toothbrush!

More Norwex Raves!  Nichole P. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa shares: ”Love love love the Norwex toothbrushes and amazed with the difference in our dental hygiene/ mouth health.   Actually, there isn’t a single Norwex product I don’t love.“  Another customer recently shared that she’s noticed she no longer has “morning breath”.  Another reported improved gum health!  My husband says it makes his teeth feel like they’ve just been cleaned at the dentist!  I love getting your feedback, and I thank you for sharing your tips and product secrets that you discover along your Norwex journey!  Just one more thing that makes this job so rewarding!

silvertooth_smThe Norwex toothbrush really is fantastic!  The silver base means that your toothbrush “self-sanitizes” between brushings- which is huge since “regular” toothbrushes are a haven for bacteria!  I love that I can use one refill for 6 months, rather than needing to replace my entire toothbrush every 3 months (and after being sick with colds, etc.)  Be kind to our environment– don’t dispose unnecessary waste (i.e. toothbrush handles) into our landfills.  I have personally found that I need to use less toothpaste with the Norwex toothbrush.

Your dentist would recommend that you use the soft (and that’s what we personally use), but for those who prefer a firmer brush, the medium is firmer because of the microfiber bristles & does stand up a little longer (which makes sense, of course).  I’ve shared several of the “pros”, now I’d like to mention some possible “cons”:  one customer reported to me that she would like to see Norwex also make the toothbrush in a smaller size for those folks who have smaller mouths.  And personally, I’d like to see Norwex send each refill with a new cover to fit over the toothbrush head.  I love theses covers for traveling, and one of my little ones broke one of our covers.  So far, that’s all the “negatives” I have to share!  PLEASE NOTE: Norwex does NOT recommend using these toothbrushes for young children, as the refill could potentially be a choking risk.

Try your own Norwex toothbrush today:)

I want to add a quick update to this post… I recently switched over to using the medium toothbrush because of it’s microfiber bristles… and I’m afraid that I like it even better than the soft!!  Now I know that most dentists do not approve of medium (which is why it took me so long to actually try the medium!), but ours is very soft IF you first run it under very warm/ hot water before brushing.  With that said, I was also very happy with the soft toothbrush, I just think that the medium seems to do an EVEN better job… and the bristles seem to hold up a bit better.   Either way, I think you’ll be thrilled with this toothbrush!

Need allergy relief? Try our mattress cleaner!

Monday, February 8th, 2010

First of all, I’ve been *so* excited to no longer have dry, itchy eyes every morning! This mattress spray made an almost immediate difference for me and my husband. But what is even more exciting is the consistent feedback I receive from customers! One customer reported that the product significantly decreased her husband’s snoring. Another found her general allergy symptoms to be much less. Another noticed less asthma attacks in her son (which had typically happened at night). The stories just continue to pour in. This is definitely a product that you need to try! Here’s a little excerpt written by Sonia Michalyshen about our mattress cleaner:

NORWEX MATTRESS CLEANER
by Sonia Michalyshen

Norwex has introduced a new product for the elimination and removal of all organic wastes inside mattresses, pillows, cushions and stuffed animals.

Nothing personnel, but your house is crawling with all kinds of critters. There are flakes of animal skin floating around as well. A recent article in the Winnipeg Free Press on Allergies read “stop sneezing and ah-attack dust mites and pet dander”!

You need a microscope to actually see these dust mites and pet dander, but people know they are there – and they have the stuffy noses and itchy eyes to prove it. As hibernation season approaches these critters are forced indoors to join the already thousand or so subspecies that inhabit your home. Research shows that even if you do not have a pet, all homes contain pet dander. Mouse allergens also exist in 82% of homes.

Your face is in your pillow 7-8 hours daily and every time you plunk your head down on a pillow, a little cloud of dust mites and their dead bodies and drippings come up and you breathe them in! Pillows weigh 10% more a year after purchase due to dust mites.

dust_mite

I am proud to introduce you to The Mattress Cleaner by Norwex. Because this product has micro-organisms & enzymes in the solution, it has the ability to continue working until all organic material or waste is removed. The solution must be sprayed directly on the mattress with 10-15 sprays of the solution used for a queen size bed. It sells for $35.99 and should be used every 2-6 months.

mattress-cleanerThe good news is: even if you make minor changes to housekeeping, like dusting with a Norwex dusting mitt, which *collects* the dust rather then re-arranges it, those with allergies suffer less. The bad news is: most people don’t make the changes because they don’t know about our products. So please tell your friends about Norwex Enviro Products.

Sanira Toilet System

Monday, February 8th, 2010

sanir_toiletThe Sanira Toilet System is great! I love that it doesn’t get all orange and yucky like typical toilet brushes. It actually looks very neat next to my toilets. The cleaning solution and the brush are produced from environmentally-friendly raw materials. The cleaning solution is vegetable-based with coconut oil and a naturally-occurring sugar surfactant. The brush doesn’t contain metal parts. Using only 3/4 teaspoon weekly (compared with 2T of traditional cleaners) the solution will last approximately 1 year! The Sanira solution is not poisonous nor corrosive. And it breaks down within 48 hours compared to other solutions that need at least 30 days!!   Might I add… I think the Sanira solution smells wonderful! :)   Diluted in some water, it’s a great way to freshen up the toilet area in the bathroom!

Here in Cedar Rapids, customers often mention the “pink ring” in the toilet, as well as the pink scum that accumulates in the shower.  In my experience, this system removes that from our toilets!  Yay!  :)   I must admit that toilets can present quite a cleaning challenge sometimes, and there are times when you’ll need to pull out “the big guns” when facing a particularly stubborn toilet task.  Some people have found that the DeScaler and spirisponge work great on the more stubborn stains like hard water build-up.  First you will want to pour a gallon bucket of water quickly into your toilet.  This lowers the water level, allowing your cleaner more direct contact with the porcelain.  Then you can either apply the Sanira solution full-strength & let it set for a bit, or you can apply DeScaler and let set for 10 minutes before cleaning with Spirisponge.  (As a side note:  porcelain scratches very easily, so you would not want to use a product such as our spirinetts on your toilet!  It will scratch off the porcelain.)   The Sanira brush is different from your standard toilet brush, and takes a bit of getting used to.  I have had a couple of customers say that it does not fit well down into the “toilet hole” in some older or smaller toilets.
